This is from the NY Times Review of a new musical Piece Of My Heart that Joe Joseph Meo our main Horn/Flutist in Tyrone Shoelaces just received. Congrats and its about time the rest of the world knows what all of us fairfield county musicians already knew for a long time:
Garry Sherman’s rich orchestrations and the ensemble of musicians — particularly Joe Meo on reeds, Jeff Wilfore on trumpet and Francisco Centeno on bass — that bring fresh vibrancy and dimension to tunes we’ve heard a thousand times before.

Tyrone Shoelaces Live @ Playing For Change Benefit Ballard Park, Ridgefield CT 3:00 PM

July 26, 2014, 3:00pm

Ballard Park

Come on out and support this great cause where instruments are provided for children all over the world! Music starts at 10:00 am and goes through 8:00 pm. We hit at 3:00 pm and have a one hour set. I'll be joined by Michael Galgano on guitars, Matt Graff on Drums, Phil Smith on Bass and Freddy Fuego on Trombone/FLute and the Lovely Miss Elana Zabari on backing vocals and effects! Special guest Eric Pierce will be happy to be seen on Sax and Flute!!!!! Here's from Andrew Moore: This year we have a cool mix of our favorite performers from last year and new acts hoping to spice up the stage this year. In case anyone needs more information about this whole extravaganza I’ll briefly explain so as to hopefully inspire you all! The Play For Change Foundation is a charity organization that, in addition to making kick ass videos, builds music schools in impoverished countries. Last year Caity decided to put together a one day music festival in Ballard Park on the main street in Ridgefield and Play For Change sent us all sorts of fun promotional items to help us make it happen because we were going to donate all the proceeds to them. After a unseasonably cold day and a bloody battle with the wind we got through the first annual concert for Play For Change Ridgefield. A few weeks later we went to one of the schools that Play For Change built called the Ntonga School of Music in Gugulethu, South Africa. We were astonished by the quality of musicians we found there. We spent hours talking with them and jamming and left wanting to do even more. So, this year we had an opportunity to fix some of the kinks of last years show. This year’s concert will start at 10 am and go until 9 pm. We have 9 musical acts all of whom make beautiful noise, there will be a merchandise table, a silent auction lasting the duration of the day, and of course a sound system loud enough to make sure everyone in Ridgefield knows your names and your styles. www.tyroneshoelaces.com/
